We’re huge fans of Sherri Shepherd on 30 Rock, and we positively fell in love with her infectious enthusiasm for shimmying and shaking on Dancing the Stars. We’ve kept in touch with her over the years and were thrilled to hear from her producers when she selected The Chicago Mix as one of her “Favorite Things” on The View:
Chicago PR Blog — Molise PR client Gino’s East, famous for its deep dish pizza that comes piping hot out of the cast iron skillet, was featured recently on the national food and lifestyle daytime TV show The Chew on ABC. The ever-effervescent Chef Jason Roberts interviewed Gino’s East maven of marketing Debbie Frank about the restaurant’s history and graffiti’d walls. The shoot took the entire day but we had a lot of laughs working with the crew which had flown in from New York City for our taping. I learned the field producer was from my mother’s hometown, Rochester, New York, so there were plenty of stories to share about Bill Gray’s, white hots and Genesee Beer. Chef Jason, meanwhile, shared his stories from Australia and even gave us a peak at his plentiful tattoos.
It was fun putting the TV crew back in the busy kitchen to show them how to make a Meaty Legend, Gino’s East most famous deep dish selection which Jason dubbed the United Nations of Pizza for its Canadian bacon, Italian sausage and such. After we completed staff interviews about the restaurant’s history, we then got to work talking to guests who weren’t camera shy about what makes Gino’s East so legendary. The authentic responses are priceless and will be treasured. Our lunch break was a highly anticipated array of deep dish pizzas and fresh salads. Then we hit the second part of our day where we took interior shots of the graffiti-covered walls and other wacky decor, and Jason made his mark permanent by signing the wall in White-Out. A couple weeks later, we worked with the producers back in NYC on the final touches like fact checking and arranging a delivery of pizzas for the studio audience giveaway. We think the segment turned out fantastic!
Molise PR client Gino’s East recently played host to some Chicago power players during an episode of Bloomberg Television’s Titans at the Table. The dinner featured Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, businesswoman Penny Pritzker, Chicago Sun Times owner Michael Ferro Jr., and Jim Reynolds of Loop Capital, as they circled around Gino’s East famous deep dish pizza and discussed pressing issues:
